Entrants who completed online DV-2012 entries through the official website can check the status of their entries by returning to the website at http://www.dvlottery.state.gov on or after May 1, 2011, through June 30, 2012.
Important Notice: Entry Status Check will be the ONLY means of informing you of your selection for DV-2012. All entrants, including those NOT selected, may check the status of their entries through the Entry Status Check on the E-DV website http://www.dvlottery.state.gov and find out if their entry was or was not selected. Entrants will need to use the information from their DV-2012 confirmation pages saved at the time of entry..
Entry Status Check will be the ONLY means by which DV lottery winners/selectees will be notified of their selection for DV-2012. Additionally, Entry Status Check will provide you, the successful selectee, instructions on how to proceed with your application and notify you of the date and time of your immigrant visa appointment. The Kentucky Consular Center will no longer mail notification letters to DV selectees. Those selected in the random drawing are NOT notified of their selection by email. The above procedures are explained in the DV Lottery 2012 Instructions. The “Selection of Applicants” section of the DV instructions provides information about the DV time frame and process.
In DV-2011,last year 5,200 Ethiopians won the lottery, but not sure how many of them arrived in the Promised Land.
You must retain your confirmation number in order to check your entry status using the internet. You may check back at this link http://www.dvlottery.state.gov/ESC/ between May 1, 2011 and June 30, 2012 to determine whether your entry was selected for further processing in the 2012 DV Lottery. You will be required to enter your confirmation number in combination with other personal information in order to check on your entry status.

“We are experiencing technical difficulties at this time”

Updated: The joy of the 22000 that had been notified of having won the DV–2012 lottery has turned out to be short-lived, due to glitch which was followed by litigation ,hearing and so on. Strong mottos’ and youtube video crying about ’22,000 winners cannot be ignored’ are escalating. What ever the outcomes of the 22,000 ‘winners’, for July 15, when DV-2012 results of the new selection process will be available on-line. Good Luck again.
